Dr. Erik Nilssen, M.D., M.B.A. Founder, Director of Education
As an orthopedic surgeon and founder of the Nilssen Ankle and Foot Center, Erik knows firsthand the financial hardships imposed upon those in the health care community. As a result, he is dedicated to helping physicians take control of their financial success so they can build a thriving livelihood and a fulfilling retirement.
After more than 20 years in the medical profession, Erik realized physicians had a pressing need that wasn’t being met: greater financial literacy. Health care providers spend their careers taking care of others, but no one is taking care of them when it comes to their own financial wellness.
“Physicians need to learn new strategic methods to safeguard their practices and financial health in the same way they learn new techniques to treat their patients,” he says.
Erik formed WealthDx specifically to serve the financial needs of the health care community, providing the same high levels of care and comfort that physicians provide to their patients. As “The Strategic Doctor,” Erik focuses on educating fellow physicians on developing strategic financial strategies to achieve financial freedom.
Erik is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is the only person to have completed fellowships in both Sports Medicine and Foot & Ankle at the American Sports Medicine Institute under the direction of Dr. James R. Andrews.
In his free time, Erik enjoys spending time at the beach, boating, watching college sports and collecting Paleo-Indian artifacts.
